We started as a few solo winter swimmers on Long Island's North Fork, until we found each other and formed an informal group to share tips, research, and swim together. As we met more, our community grew. Many who once called us crazy are now devoted dippers. We invite everyone curious to join! Gently led by founders Patricia Garcia-Gomez and David Snowdon-Jones, the North Fork Polar Bears aim to build community, promote well-being, and care for the waters we cherish. Everyone is welcome!
